LONGVILLE, Minn. – The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office said a fishing boat capsized near here Wednesday, drowning one man and forcing the other to swim for shore.
Otter Tail Deputy Jim Iverson said deputies responded Wednesday at about 1:19 p.m. to a report of a man drowning after his boat capsized. Investigators found that the boat had capsized while fishing, leaving two men in the water.
One man made it back to shore alive, said Iverson. The drowning victim was identified as Robert Schatschneider, 72, of Longville.
No foul play is suspected, and the drowning appears to have been an accident, Iverson said.
