A two-vehicle crash on June 13 resulted in injuries and a DUI arrest.

According to a Hubbard County Sheriff's Office release, dispatch received a call at 1:17 a.m. about a two-vehicle crash on Hubbard County Road 4, at the intersection with County Road 18. Deputies and medical personnel responded. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 2008 Mazda, driven by 22-year-old Sarah Gamache of Park Rapids, was travelling southbound on County Road 4 when she was struck head-on by a 1998 Jeep, driven by 33-year-old Emma Helfrich of Minneapolis.

The sheriff report states Helfrich's vehicle crossed the centerline, where it then collided with Gamache. Gamache was transported to CHI St Joseph's Health by private vehicle and was treated for her injuries.

The release says officers discovered that Helfrich had been drinking earlier in the evening. After failing field sobriety testing, she was arrested for DUI and transported to the Hubbard County jail.
