The Detroit Lakes School District is working with its bus contractor to come up with a solution to complaints that a school bus seating arrangement targets kids in a Detroit Lakes mobile home park.
"We're working on a potential resolution of the situation," said Superintendent Doug Froke.
The bus company and the district will be testing alternative options on Wednesday to make sure they are safe, he said.
If the bus contractor and school district officials can come to agreement on a resolution, Froke said he will then talk to Vicki Rudolph, the parent who is fighting the current seating arrangement on the bus her children ride to the Detroit Lakes Middle School.
Rudolph said in a previous story that a policy forcing the students from the last stop before the school--at the mobile home park Riverview Terrace--to sit only in the front three rows of the bus unfairly stigmatizes the students who live at the mobile home park.
