GLYNDON, Minn. - No criminal charges are expected for the driver who struck and killed a 2-year-old on Saturday near Glyndon, officials said.

"I don't foresee anything," said Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist.

Bergquist said investigators don't think the driver, Donald Krabbenhoft, 67, of rural Barnesville, was drinking or speeding.

The investigation won't be complete until a toxicology analysis is conducted. That will take about a month, the sheriff said.

Gage Jacobson of rural Glyndon was pronounced dead at the scene on Saturday after darting out in front of the vehicle Krabbenhoft was driving on 17th Street North one mile north of Highway 10.

Before the accident, the toddler had been riding on a four-wheeler with his father, Jon Jacobson.
