Lindsey A. Nicklason of Nevis, has joined the Leadership Council of The Park Rapids Chapter of Wellspring for the World, joining nine other local men and women dedicated to bringing clean water to people in Africa. “Lindsey is a wonderful addition to the council,” said Jack Derr, president of the local organization. “She believes in the mission of Wellspring, and her enthusiasm is contagious.” “I am blessed to be part of such a motivated and compassionate group of individuals working for the common good of those in far off lands,” explained Lindsey, noting that she believes that the goal of Wellspring – providing clean water for those without access to one of life’s most basic needs – is attainable within the next few decades. “Getting that message out and helping others to see that it is possible, is important to me. I am excited and proud to be a member of Wellspring’s Leadership Council,” she added. Lindsey lives near Nevis with her husband Brent and children Sawyer and Stella. The couple runs a construction company and an event barn from their home. Wellspring, which started in Fargo in 2005, is a non-profit organization that partners with World Vision to drill and maintain wells in 10 countries in Africa. The Park Rapids chapter, organized in 2011, has been successful in its fundraising efforts, thanks to the generosity of the local community. Other members of the Leadership Council are: Doug Bakken, Eileen Bolton, Joyce Cowman, Cathy Peterson, Genell Poitras, Steve Steinborn and Carl Wall, all of Park Rapids; and Sharon Gorden of Osage.
