Nevis and Menahga will begin the Section 5A volleyball tournament Thursday night at Nevis.
Menahga, the No. 3 seed in the north half of the section, will play No. 6 Sebeka at 6 p.m. at the Tiger Arena. The match between Nevis, the No. 2 seed, and McGregor, the No. 7 seed, will follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The other first-round matches will be played at Hill City with No. 4 Verndale playing No. 5 Northland and No. 1 Hill City playing No. 8 Laporte.
The second round moves to Pequot Lakes on Friday night at 6 and 7:30 with the north title match set for next Tuesday at Wadena at 6 p.m. Wadena will also host the Section 5A championship match Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
