Nevis defeats Sebeka, advances to section semifinals

The Nevis volleyball team advanced to the Section 5A semifinals with a 3-0 win over Sebeka Tuesday night at Park Rapids.

The Tigers, the No. 1 seed in the Northwest portion of the section, improved to 18-9 on the season with a 25-19, 25-21, 25-22 win over the No. 2-seeded Trojans.

Nevis will play Onamia Thursday night at 7:30 at Brainerd in one section semifinal match. Bertha-Hewitt and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa play in the other semifinal match Thursday night at 6 at Brainerd.

The semifinal winners play for the Section 5A title and a trip to state on Saturday night at 7. The site of that match will be determined after the semifinals.
