A semi truck and multiple cars were involved in an accident at 8 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and State Highway 34 in Park Rapids. Assistant Park Rapids Fire Chief Ben Cumber did not have a report on the condition of the semi driver, but other drivers were transported to the hospital. The semi eventually crashed into Northview Bank, hitting a transformer and causing electricity to go out in the surrounding area. A Northview Bank teller working in the drive-thru reported hearing a "bang," then the lights flickered and went out. No injuries were reported at the bank. A full report will be available in Saturday's edition of the Park Rapids Enterprise.
