A Fargo woman faces a Clay County court appearance today following a Moorhead police investigation indicating that she "deliberately" drove her Jeep Grand Cherokee into the Honda Accord her son was driving Saturday night.
Corrie Metz, 42, is being held pending formal charges of two counts of criminal vehicular operation, one count of second-degree felony domestic assault, driving under the influence and reckless driving, Moorhead police Lt. Chris Carey said Sunday.
Carey said Metz followed the Accord, driven by her son Parker Metz, 19, of Moorhead from the Moorhead Sports Center.
Before the collision, the Jeep Corrie Metz was driving made contact with the Accord at the 2100 block of 4th Avenue in Moorhead as Parker Metz attempted to get away from her, Carey said.
The Jeep hit the Honda in the parking lot of the Holiday gas station on 21st Street South and Fourth Avenue, heavily damaging the car.

According to a Moorhead Police Department statement, "Our investigation indicates that she deliberately struck the rear end of a Honda Accord, at a fast rate of speed ... The Accord struck a street light and was pinned between the pole and the Jeep."
At 9:34 p.m., Moorhead police, the Moorhead Fire Department and F-M Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
Passenger Samantha Briggs, 20, of Fargo was trapped in the backseat of the Accord, her feet pinned under the front passenger's seat.
The Moorhead Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to free Briggs, who was transported to MeritCare Hospital. She was treated and released, a Meritcare spokeswoman said.
The front-seat passenger, Roxy Linn, 63, of Aitkin, Minn., was also transported to MeritCare. No information on her condition was available.
Corrie Metz was alone in the Jeep at the time of the collision.
The Moorhead Police Department is not yet releasing information on the motivation for the incident.
