Morris E. Polman, 72, of Park Rapids died Monday, June 26, 2006 in Park Rapids.
He was born Aug. 6, 1933 to Theodore and Effie (Rimpala) Polman in Ottertail County. He attended country school in the Wolf Lake area. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1950 to 1955. After his honorable discharge he moved to the Iron Range near Hibbing working as a heavy equipment operator.
He married Nancy Ardell Schelde June 29, 1957. In 1959, they moved to the Twin Cities. He worked as a drywall contractor for more than 46 years. In 1974, they moved to Princeton. In 1998, they moved to Park Rapids.
He was a member of the Princeton Men's Golf League, Ham Lake Drift Riders Snowmobile Club, the National Rifle Association, Pheasants Forever, Minnesota Deer Hunters Assoc. and Ducks Unlimited.
He is survived by his wife; four children, Cynthia Kangas of Milaca, David of Princeton, Stephanie (Jason) Palmer and Daniel (Naomi), both of Park Rapids; sister, Dolores Riley of Park Rapids; brother, Jim (Joyce) of Schreveport, LA; sister-in-law, Jan Polman of Waskom, TX; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Douglas; and brother, Ted.
Funeral: 1 p.m. today (Saturday) at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with Rev. Loren Bjornson officiating. Jane Wolff will be the organist. Congregational hymns will be "Just As I Am" and "How Great Thou Art." Special music will be "Go Rest High On The Mountain" by Vince Gill and "In The Arms of the Angel" by Sarah McLaughlin.
Honorary casketbearers: His sons, David and Daniel; grandsons, Cody McAlpine and Paul Kangas; son-in-law, Jason Palmer; and friend, Merl Kangas.
Interment: Oak Knoll Cemetery in Princeton.
