MOORHEAD-An early morning traffic stop here resulted in a major drug bust by a Moorhead police officer.
The officer pulled over 29-year-old Leila Tarez Maamari, of Washington, for speeding about 2:20 a.m., according to a news release from Moorhead police.
The officer found more than 27 pounds of marijuana in her 2004 Honda Accord.
The drugs amount to an estimated value of just under $250,000, according to the release.
Just over 25 pounds of the drugs were high-grade marijuana and about 2 pounds were wax marijuana.

Maamari was taken to the Clay County Jail and is facing felony drug possession charges. Police seized her car.
"These large drug seizures are examples that further solidify concerns that there is a significant demand for these drugs in this area," the release said.
