A Missouri man was sentenced to six months Thursday after pleading guilty to charges stemming from a May 4 high-speed chase.
Tony Young Howard, 18, entered guilty pleas in Cass County District Court to felony reckless endangerment, misdemeanor attempted simple assault on a peace officer and driving under the influence. A possession of marijuana charge was dismissed in exchange for the pleas.
East Central Judicial District Judge Georgia Dawson addressed Howard before sentencing him, saying, "Well, you certainly had a bad day."
"Yep," Howard replied.
Dawson then sentenced Howard to one year, first to serve six months, with the remaining time suspended for two years of supervised probation.

Dawson ordered Howard to undergo a psychological evaluation and chemical evaluation and gave him credit for 30 days.
Authorities used a Taser to subdue the Gladstone, Mo., man after a chase that started about 9 a.m. when a North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper tried to pull over an SUV going more than 110 mph on Interstate 29 eight miles south of Fargo, Sgt. Troy Hischer said.
Howard avoided stop sticks and was arrested after driving into a field near Grandin, N.D., and getting stuck and throwing a punch at a trooper.
Narcotics and alcohol were in the SUV, Hischer said.
