A rural Menahga, Minn., man is dead after his car went off a curve in a gravel township road and struck an embankment, Becker County Sheriff Tim Gordon said.
The driver was identified as 48-year-old Dewey Francis Paripovich.
The accident was reported at 6:26 a.m. today in Runeberg Township in the extreme southeast corner of Becker County. However, it's believed the accident occurred substantially earlier, Gordon said in a news release.
Paripovich was alone in the 1997 Hyundai. He was not wearing a seat belt, and the airbags had previously been deployed and not reinstalled, the release stated.
Excessive speed and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash, Gordon said.
