Martine "Betty" Elizabeth Pashalek, 81, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 in Palm City, FL after a short illness.

She was born Dec. 20, 1925 in Omaha. She lived in Nevis for 32 years prior to moving to Palm City six years ago.

She was active as a volunteer and a liaison for hospice in Park Rapids, the North Country Museum of Arts, White Birch Artists, Nevis Study Club for 20 years and the Lady of Our Pines Catholic Church in Nevis, where she sang in the choir and played the organ. She was also a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City, also singing in the choir.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen (John) Kimble of Palm City; Mary Frances (George) Herriott of Omaha; Mike (Leslie) of Minneapolis; Kathleen (John) Thomsen of Omaha; and Pat (Jeanine) of Lincoln, NE; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank.
