Margaret "Elise" M. Neeld, MD, 66, of Nevis died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at St. Joseph's Area Health Services in Park Rapids.
She was born July 23, 1941 in Clearwater, FL to David Edmund and Elizabeth (Polk) Moss. She attended school at Clearwater. At age 18, she moved to Nashville and attended Vanderbilt University for her under-graduate degree. She graduated from Vanderbilt Medical School in 1966. She fulfilled her internship there from 1966 until 1969.
She married John B. Neeld, MD Dec. 27, 1961 at Clearwater. She later moved to the upper Midwest. She practiced medicine as a diagnostic radiologist at the St. Louis County Hospital, the Franklin Hospital in Benton, IL, United Hospital in Grand Forks and St. Joseph's Area Health Services in Park Rapids. She also was on staff at the University of North Dakota Medical School in Grand Forks. She retired in 1994.
She was active with the Development Achievement Center in Park Rapids and raised money for cancer awareness. She received awards in chemistry and biology while at Vanderbilt University and was a former member of the Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church in Clearwater. She also volunteered for the humane society.
She is survived by a son, David B. of Minneapolis; her mother of Nevis; and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at White-Ranson Funeral Home Chapel in Troy, TN with Dr. David Russell officiating. Special musical solos will be "Let There Be Peace on Earth" and "The King Cometh."
Graveside service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Troy City Cemetery.
