A Stewartville, Minn., man accused of possessing 885 Ecstasy pills pleaded not guilty Monday in Pennington County District Court.
Kenneth John Strand, 20, was pulled over and arrested Friday afternoon on Main Street in Thief River Falls. Strand was booked on a first-degree controlled substance crime.
An investigation by deputies with the North Star Drug Task Force led to the seizure of the pills. At $25 a pill, the cache has a local street value of about $22,000.
As of Monday evening, Strand was in custody at Pennington County jail on $75,000 bond.
His next court date is April 24.
