Man in serious August crash involved in second crash

A Nevis man under court-ordered supervision not to drink after being in a summer race and crash that critically injured a young woman has been arrested a second time for criminal vehicular operation stemming from alcohol consumption. Lee Richard Branstrom, 25, faces two counts of criminal vehicular operation and failing to notify authorities of a crash Dec. 21 around midnight. A call came in from Ford Sync Services that a crash sensor reported a collision at County Road 13 and State Highway 87 in Hubbard County around midnight Saturday. “Dispatch spoke with the occupants of the vehicle who reported it was a sensor problem and that everyone was okay,” the criminal complaint stated. As Sgt. Jeff Stacey headed to the crash scene, a caller reported to dispatch that a Ford truck was overturned on County Road 13. Stacey noted no one was in the vehicle, but sets of footprints were found leaving the scene.
