Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reports that on July 8, 2014 at approximately 5:56 PM, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a report of man pinned by a tractor in a shed at a residence in Sylvan Township.
Responders arrived and found a male, age 86, of Brainerd, deceased by injuries resulting from an apparent accident caused by a tractor rolling in reverse and pinning the victim against a 5th wheel trailer hitch. An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol, Pillager Area Fire and Rescue and North Ambulance.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
