A 21-year-old St. Michael, Minn., man was arrested for second-degree assault, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct after waving a knife at a bar and attempting to stab someone in the neck, Wadena County Sheriff Michael Carr said.
Shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the J&J Bar in Nimrod because of threats made with a knife. When they arrived, they learned the St. Michael man had threatened to stab another bar patron in the neck, and had followed the group of bar-goers to their vehicle and allegedly brandished a knife.
The man was arrested for second-degree assault, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. Deputies' reports will be forwarded to the Wadena County Attorney's Office for review. The Pioneer Journal will release the man's name if formal charges have been filed in court.
No injuries resulted from this call, Carr said.
The Wadena County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Sebeka Police Department and Menahga Police Department, Carr said.
