FARGO - A man was arrested Friday night after physically attacking employees at a downtown Fargo restaurant.

Kurtis Harrington, 22, entered the kitchen of Mezzaluna from an exterior entrance and yelled "How's it going?" before he began to violently swing at and punch employees, said Sgt. Mark Lykken of Fargo Police.

Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call around 8:47 p.m.

Harrington, of Fargo with no permanent address, apparently first punched a woman in the face and then punched a man in the neck, Lykken said. After that, the employees realized what was happening and fought to restrain him.

"When officers arrived, staff were restraining him in the kitchen," Lykken said.

Harrington then kicked and struck one officer, Lykken said.

There were no serious injuries, and no medical attention needed.

A total of three Mezzaluna employees - two men and one woman - sustained minor injuries, Lykken said.

When officers inter-viewed the employees after the incident, they all reported that everything happened quickly. They saw Harrington looking into the windows of the restaurant before he entered, Lykken said. None of the employees knew Harrington.

The incident was contained to the kitchen, said Mezzaluna owner Eric Watson.

"To the best of my knowledge, no one in the dining room even knew," he said.

Harrington was arrested on the charges of resisting police and simple assault.
