Decorative benches, bicycle racks and trash cans have been added to Main Avenue.

Construction is moving along, with curb and gutter being poured on Second Street late this week. Sidewalks should be poured next week on Second. Utility work is wrapping up on Third Street and crews have started on Fourth Street.

Street signs have also been placed at the intersections.

Crews were back this week to work on the granite lake inlays to ensure they are installed correctly and sealed. Fourteen out of 16 inlays are completed.

Flower baskets are not up on the light poles yet due to the threat of frost but will be in place soon.

Third Street will be graded today so it will be ready for curb and gutter to be poured when Second Street is done. The plan is to pour sidewalk on Second Street next week.

An electrical switchover is planned for 1 a.m. Thursday, June 2, which will affect the northwest part of the city. This section of town will be out of power briefly.

Parking continues to be available along Main Avenue, Highway 71 and Pleasant Avenue, with downtown side streets closed off to traffic.

Downtown work is scheduled to be completed by the end of June.
