Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reports that on Tuesday October 21st 2014 at approximately 9:18 PM the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle crash on County Road #7 in the City of Longville. Deputies and responders arrived and located two vehicles that apparently had collided head on. The driver of one vehicle was pronounced deceased at the Longville airport. The driver of the second vehicle, David Maki age 42, of Swatara, MN, was arrested near the scene and transported to the Cass County Detention Center. Formal charges are pending. The incident remains under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
The name of the victim is Douglas Anwiler, 55, of Longville.
Assisting at the scene were Longville Fire and First Responders, The Longville Police Department, North Memorial Ambulance and North Memorial AirCare.
