Ann Wothe has been reinstated as Menahga’s middle school principal.
The Menahga School Board also approved a preK-8th grade and 9th-12th grade building configuration, beginning with the 2022-23 school year. This was recommended by Interim Superintendent Kevin Wellen and new Superintendent Jason Kjos.
In other business, the school board did as follows:
- Accepted letters of resignation from elementary teacher Elyssa Blaha, effective June 3; paraprofessional Roxanne Kriens, effective June 2; Cassy Smith, elementary teacher, effective June 3; and custodian Steven Wikman, effective June 8.
- Approved the purchase of a new lawn mower, not to exceed the amount of $15,484.
- Approved the purchase of 25 iPads for the summer art program, not to exceed the amount of $18,000. Wellen reported art teacher Tiffany Besonen has agreed to add an art component to the district’s summer STEM learning loss program.
- Learned the program the district uses to manage its meal data is no longer supporting schools, so they are moving to Infinite Campus. There will be a charge of $6,630 for the coming year and an ongoing cost of approximately $2,000 per year after that.
- Approved the work assignment for Norma Dissmore and Julia Kicker as FCCLA co-advisors for 2022-23.
- Approved the reading specialist position.
The board will take formal action at its July meeting.
