Three members of Park Rapids Cub Scouts Pack 58 “crossed over” to Boy Scouts Troop 58 in a ceremony March 28 at St. Johns Lutheran Church.
“Tonight it is my privilege to present to you our Cub Scouts that have decided to continue their Scouting trail,” Cubmaster Dustin Lof announced.

Webelos Ryan Cook, Jesse Simmons and Brodyn Westbrook received the “Arrow of Light” badge, which Pack committee chair Tom Weston explained is the only Cub Scouts rank insignia they can carry over to their Boy Scouts uniform.
Weston called the Arrow of Light the highest rank a Cub Scout can achieve.
Weston also presented the boys with handmade arrow plaques, which he said he was inspired to start making when his son received one.

Each boy then ceremonially crossed a portable wooden bridge, symbolizing their passage from one level of Scouting to another.
Parents of the three boys also received pins recognizing the work they did to help their Scouts earn their badges and complete their Cub Scouting trail.
