A man from Park Rapids was hospitalized Monday after a vehicle accident in Carsonville Township.
According to a media release from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), the agency received a report at 2:31 p.m. of a single-vehicle crash with one person trapped inside at the intersection of County Road 26 and West Straight Lake Avenue.
Emergency personnel from the BCSO, North Memorial Ambulance, Carsonville Fire and Rescue and the Park Rapids Fire Department responded to the scene. They found the driver, Dillon James Jackson, 29, of Park Rapids, trapped in the vehicle and in critical condition.
Investigation showed Jackson’s vehicle had left the roadway on a curve and struck a utility pole with the driver’s door.
Jackson was extricated from the vehicle by Carsonville and Park Rapids firefighters and was flown from the scene to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo by North Memorial Aircare. His condition is unknown at this time, and the crash remains under investigation.
