The Nevis Women’s Club is hosting a conference to encourage “women to grow and achieve success throughout their personal and career journeys,” according to a news release.
The Empowering Women to Lead Conference will be held on Friday, Sept. 16 at Northern Lights Casino. The features “thought-provoking speakers, interactive activities and opportunities to network with others.”
Keynote speaker is polar explorer Ann Bancroft. She headed the all-woman team to the South Pole, becoming the first female to cross the ice of both the North and South Poles. Bancroft was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame for the U.S. in 2005.
Other speakers include Teresa Kittridge, founder and president of 100 Rural Women. Nevada Littlewolf is executive director of Our Children MN. Mariah Prussia is founder of MPX Fitness and is a professional boxer, self-defense expert and Fargo’s first sanctioned professional female MMA fighter. Jodi Heilman is the owner of Coach My Brand, a professional coaching and brand strategy firm located in Fargo.

The Nevis Women’s Club, which celebrated its 100-year anniversary last year, is a chapter of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), one of the largest philanthropic women’s clubs in the country.
