Man airlifted after ATV crash in Wadena County
The crash occurred south of Cottingham Park in Bullard Township.
WADENA — A St. Cloud man was injured when he crashed an ATV in Bullard Township in Wadena County on Saturday, June 25.
The crash happened at about 5:10 p.m. south of Cottingham Park, according to a Wadena County Sheriff's Office news release.
It was reported that a man was found lying on ground near his ATV by family members. The man, identified as Daniel Walters, age 69, of St. Cloud, was driving a red Polaris four-wheeler when he lost control, fell off and injured his left side. Walters was reported to be lying on the ground for 20-30 minutes before being located by family. Staples ambulance arrived on scene and transported Walters to a landing zone close to the scene. Walters was then airlifted to CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud to be treated. His current condition is unknown.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Staples Ambulance and North Memorial Air Care. Alcohol or reckless driving are not believed to be factors in this incident.
