Jaxson Lund is the May student of the month at Park Rapids Area High School.

The son of Kristen and Kevin Lund, Jaxson has participated in Hockey, Baseball, Football, BPA and National Honor Society. He plans to attend the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and earn a degree in accounting.

Business teacher Angie Kuehn said, “I have really enjoyed having Jaxson in class. I got to know him well when he was in accounting for a full year. He is a very personable young man and I always enjoy visiting with him. He has taken other classes from me and has done very well in all of them. I have been trying to talk him into joining BPA, since we were in accounting, and he finally joined this year. He did very well, and his Global Marketing Team qualified for the national competition. He is a very conscientious student and always strives to do his best. He has also been a great leader in the sports he plays. I am happy that Jaxson is choosing to work toward some type of business degree, and I know he will do well in the future. He is very deserving of this award.”

English teacher Kerry Johnson said, “Jaxson is one of the most personable guys. He can strike up a conversation with just about anyone, and I appreciate that. I enjoy having him in class because he's inclusive, and he's also someone who isn't afraid of hard work. Another positive characteristic he has is that he usually keeps his sense of humor no matter what he's trying to accomplish. I know he'll make the most of college. Congrats, Jaxson!”

Appearing before the school board on April 19, Lund said, “I just want to thank all my teachers, and of course all of you guys being here in the community. It’s been a blast. So, thank you for everything.”
