Excessive speed is suspected of contributing to a two-vehicle accident Aug. 24 in Hubbard County.
According to a press release, the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 2:08 p.m. of a one-vehicle rollover on County 11 in Hubbard Township. Responding deputies found two vehicles involved in the crash at the intersection of County 11 and County 17.
Investigation showed Karen Anderson, 80, of Nevis was traveling on County 17 in a 2012 Honda SUV when she stopped at a stop sign, the release states. Anderson then pulled out in front of a juvenile from Park Rapids traveling south on County 11 in a 2012 Kia.
The vehicles collided, with the Kia entering the ditch and overturning, the release states. Neither driver was injured.
However, the release states, the driver of the Kia was cited for failure to drive with due care due to excessive speed.
