Karen Frost, 56, of Menahga was cited for unsafe equipment due to a non-functioning turn signal and brake light following a crash on July 29.

According to the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a report of a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Hwy. 71 in Todd Township at 9:18 a.m.

The news release states deputies arrived on scene to find that Frost had been traveling south on U.S. Hwy. 71 in a 2012 Buick Enclave when she stopped and was waiting to make a left-hand turn onto Eagle Ridge Circle.

Galen Thompson, 50, of Greenfield, Indiana was behind Frost in a 2016 GMC truck, pulling a large fifth-wheel camper. The release says, in an attempt to avoid colliding with Frost’s vehicle, Thompson began to pass Frost on the left. Frost then began her left turn and collided with Thompson.

There were no injuries, but both vehicles sustained major damage.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
