A two-vehicle crash caused minor damage Sept. 12 at the Big Sand Lake public access in Lake Emma Township.

According to a press release from the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, the accident was reported at 10:32 a.m.

Responding deputies learned that Anthony Yliniemi, 24, of Park Rapids was driving a 2006 Dodge pickup when he ran into a boat trailer owned by Michael Kovacovich, 68, of Bemidji. Both units sustained minor damage, the report stated.

The single-vehicle incident on Highway 23 involved a 19-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
