DETROIT LAKES — A Bemidji man who escaped the Becker County Courthouse in Detroit Lakes after a court appearance, is now back in custody, according to Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander.

Alexander Paul Robare, 25, formerly of Audubon, Minn., was arrested shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 6.

He had previously posted $15,000 bail and was not in custody when he reported to the courthouse earlier Wednesday, for sentencing on an Escape from Custody charge.

After being sentenced to 20 months in prison, Robare fled the second floor courtroom and ran out of the courthouse, according to the Becker County Sheriff's Office.

He's now back in the Becker County Jail, with additional charges pending, Glander said.

Along with the Becker County Sheriff's Office, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Detroit Lakes Police Department helped with the arrest.
