I will be proud to vote for Brita Sailer on Nov. 7. I grew to know and admire her when she served as the chairperson of the "Church and Society Committee" at our church. I know firsthand that she cares for people where it counts and she has kept that focus as she serves us at the Capitol.
People both young and old have been deeply affected by the rising cost of health care. Brita Sailer is concerned that so many people in our area do not have health insurance. That is why in her first term she opposed damaging cuts to health care that would have left even more people in northern Minnesota uninsured. Brita and others were able to preserve health coverage for 27,000 working Minnesotans as a result.
Sailer voted for increased payments to dental offices serving low-income families. She voted for raising the wages of direct-care staff in nursing homes. She voted for funding the Living-at-Home Block Nurse programs, which help elderly persons remain in their homes and avoid going into nursing homes.
Brita puts her vote where people count. Check the facts and you will see that you can count on Brita Sailer. Brita has earned our trust and our vote on Nov. 7.
