I received nearly 30 percent of the votes in the DFL primary for secretary of state and I am writing today in support of re-electing Secretary of State Mary Kiffmeyer, a Republican.
Mary has done a bang-up job as secretary of state and will continue to do so.
As a retired Army 1st sergeant, military career counselor and Minneapolis alderman, I have been a leader and have always selected people who were the best in their fields. In my work, I always focused on people's qualifications. In voting, I have sought the best-qualified candidates. In this race, Mary Kiffmeyer is the best choice, by far.
Mary's DFL opponent doesn't have the education training to serve as secretary of state.
That's why I'm asking all 75,938 of the people who voted for me in the primary, and indeed all Minnesotans, to vote for Mary Kiffmeyer Nov. 7.
