We are so pleased that so many people appreciated and enjoyed our Veterans Day program. This would be a good time to thank everyone involved with it, because this program is not mine; it belongs to Century Middle School.
For the last four years, students in grades 5,6,7 and 8 have willingly and eagerly volunteered to prepare, glue, cut, read, dress, march or bring in a family momento. Our "Army of Women" at Century banded together to help direct and practice, locate uniforms (Thanks, Bearly Used), make calls and other contacts, type, search for and arrange pictures and music, order flags, dress and prepare students, find greeters, organize marchers ... we are an army of one. When asked to help with anything, they replied, "I can do that." Thank you.
Another huge thank you goes to the staff at Century Middle School who gave up class time for practice, helped with preparations and cleanup and supervised roughly 500 well-behaved students. Thanks to our camera crew, who made our program public, and all of you who allowed us to proudly wear your uniforms. Thank you, veterans, for your duty to this country and your assistance with our program - you make us proud to be Americans.
Again, we express our gratitude to our awesome students and staff, the generous folks at Bearly Used, our friends and families, and our heroic veterans. We have one last very important note: thank you, LaPalma Anderson, my partner and battle-buddy in this wonderful and rewarding endeavor. Your assistance to each Veterans Day program is always above and beyond the call of duty.
God bless you and God bless the USA!
