Sen. Clinton

isn't JFK

I don't believe Sen. Barack Obama understands the reality of the global terrorism situation that our next president must deal with. Last month he claimed (Washington Post Aug. 2) invading Pakistan, a US ally, might be justified after we retreat from Iraq. That's an approach al Quada in Iraq is happy to hear.

In May, after years of preparation, several Muslim terrorist suspects were arrested for planning to ignite the fuel pipeline at the JFK Airport in New York (New York Times). The same week, Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards called terrorism only a bumper sticker slogan. Tell that to the relatives of those killed at the Twin Towers.

Finally, with regard to national security, does any Democratic partisan believe that Hillary Clinton can face-down any patriarchal terrorist leader - especially since her own husband failed to respond militarily to the Islamic attack (car bombs) on the World Trade Center in 1993? JFK faced down the Russians over Cuba in the 1960s. Sen. Clinton isn't JFK and the terrorists know it.
