Letters: Sailer should have voted 'yes'

Brita Sailer has turned her back on Bemidji State. During her one term in office, she has single-handedly attempted to ambush $11.5 million in dedicated funding for Bemidji and nearly $3.3 billion for the entire Minnesota College System.

Sailer's actions were bad enough last year - when she voted against a bill that would have given money to every project on the Minnesota State University needs list - but insult was added to injury this year when she had the audacity to do it again. Her "no" vote would have had a direct impact on Bemidji State if the bill hadn't passed with bipartisan support in both the House and the Senate.

I don't know about you, but I want an elected official who cares about our district, and Brita Sailer's decision to vote against $11.5 million for Bemidji State is not what I would call supportive. Please vote for Doug Lindgren... your candidate that will not play power politics budget games with our area institutions.
