Pulju responds

to letter

It has been brought to my attention that a letter to the editor concerning me was published in the March 11, 2006 edition of the Enterprise. This is my response. That letter is another in a series of wild, reckless, false and distorted accusations by Ms. Finch leveled at me. In answer to a question from Ms. Finch in which she referred to herself as a district taxpayer, I replied only with a simple fact. Ms. Finch does not live in the district. Her letter distorts this statement into a sensational, fabricated assumption that it was an attack on open enrollment.

In point of fact, open enrollment is embodied in Minnesota law. It affords the opportunity for students, such as Ms. Finch's daughter, to enroll in any school district of their choice, taking advantage of programs, school facilities and educational opportunities offered in that school district. The Menahga School District is proud that many parents and students have availed themselves of the opportunity to enroll in our school. We welcome them with open arms.
