Please conserve on electricity

Due to high electric demand, Minnesota Power is asking its customers to curtail non-essential electricity use at least through 8 p.m.

Warm weather across the state and region has created a high demand.

Customers are asked to:

n Refrain from using electric dishwashers, washing machines and dryers until after 8 p.m.

n If using air conditioning, close off unused rooms.

n Turn off unused room lights, computers and other appliances.

Minnesota Power will update the situation as events warrant.

Minnesota Power provides electricity in a 26,000-square-mile electric service territory located in northeastern Minnesota. They supply retail electric service to 141,000 customers, wholesale electric service to 16 municipalities and some of the largest industrial customers in the United States.
