When did Americans start being stereotyped as selfish and ignorant? When did foreign countries start calling us uneducated and greedy? Well, I can honestly say that I'm not too positive. I do, however, remember growing up and hearing about a nation that is full of people who care about a child's upbringing over material things... such as money.

When did the need for cash replace the value of a proper, well-rounded education? Maybe my opinion is biased and maybe I'm just a dumb kid, but it makes me sick to my stomach when I hear some small town, small-minded hick come over and say that a proper education isn't worth a few extra tax dollars.

You can argue all you want that I couldn't possibly know what it's like to have to endure a tax increase and so forth and, as true as that may be, my family must certainly know what that's like. And, of course, my family is voting yes. My grandparents own nine acres of lakeshore property along with a large property in town and neither even think twice about their yes vote.

True patriotism isn't the money-hungry attitude so many of us are showing. It's the will to educate (and do it in a well-rounded manner) and prepare the coming generations.

Please, show your support for the future. Support the referendum. Because despite the sacrifice, a patriot votes yes.
