One fine teacher,
mentor and friend
The Park Rapids community and Park Rapids High School lost a very good friend this past week with the passing of Charlie Frisby. Those of us who have known him for so many years will have our own fond memories.
For me, I will never forget Charlie as the "math teacher" who was so diligent in preparing me for college calculus, or as the Athletic Director who supported all athletics and cheered at state basketball tournaments as if we were all his kids.
My most enduring memory of Charlie, however, was in fall of 1965, when after the passing of my own father, Charlie invited me to a "father son" banquet at Calvary Lutheran Church. I had an opportunity of sharing these thoughts with Charlie about three weeks ago and for that I feel very fortunate.

Charlie will be missed and all of us who knew him as a teacher, mentor and friend thank him for his efforts to make Park Rapids and the high school such a positive part of our lives.
