The recent DFL attack piece against Sen. Carrie Ruud claiming that she doesn't support military families is very disheartening. I am Carrie's dad and our family is proud of its strong military history.
My wife of 60 years and I are both veterans of World War II. I served with General Patton in Sicily and Ginny served with the Red Cross all across Europe. Carrie's husband is an Air Force Veteran; our son, Carrie's brother, is a retired Army colonel (three tours of Vietnam, Haiti and Somalia); my grandson is a Marine captain and our granddaughter is serving with her husband at Fort Hood in Texas.
America is at war and for the DFL to use our military troops for it's half-truths and political gain is appalling! At 90 years of age, I find the DFL tactics disgraceful.
We are very proud of our daughter, Sen. Carrie Ruud; she serves with honor and integrity.
