To the Republican party: For shame; the piece of literature that I received in the mail on Saturday made me ill. The campaign process is intended to inform the voters where a candidate stands on issues and give an indication of their morals and ethics. This piece ripped apart Brita Sailer, the DFL incumbent with half-truths. It did not give us a clue if the GOP candidate was as qualified as Ms. Sailer.

I am proud to say that I will be voting for Brita Sailer on Election Day. Brita understands that we need to ensure that our children and grandchildren have a good education and the school systems to allow them to excel. She understands that we need to manage our natural resources while balancing the needs of both the recreational and commercial users.

Brita has the experience both in the northern Minnesota communities that she represents and in St. Paul to do an excellent job. She is not afraid to bring different factions together to come to agreement on long-term solutions that will benefit us all. She is accessible and will take the time to explain to her constituents how and why she has cast her votes for us.

I hope that you will join me in taking the high road and vote for Brita Sailer on Election Day.
