Letters:Good samaritans on Heartland Trail

On Monday, July 3 my wife and I were biking on the trail between Nevis and Dorset. Unfortunately, my wife had a crash and ended up with a broken collarbone and several abrasions. We were several miles away from Park Rapids and the emergency room.

On Monday, July 3 my wife and I were biking on the trail between Nevis and Dorset. Unfortunately, my wife had a crash and ended up with a broken collarbone and several abrasions. We were several miles away from Park Rapids and the emergency room.

Fortunately, a local resident, Betty, was biking the trail and stopped to help. She said her daughter, Rachel, was at the next crossroads with a car. Betty and Rachel returned with the car and took my wife to Park Rapids. I was then able to take her to St. Joseph's Area Hospital ER, where the staff was prompt, professional and friendly.

I didn't get Betty and Rachel's last names, we want to thank them for their kindness and help to us. It is people like them that will keep us coming back to Park Rapids and the area for future vacations!
