Letters: Don't stay home Nov. 7

With the scandalous actions of Mark Foley, which no one should excuse, I have listened to the mainstream media suggest that conservative Christians may sit our this election because they can't trust Republicans either.

Excuse me, but when did we start judging all candidates on the actions of one or a few? Still catering to the dwindling radical abortion groups and backing the proposed new definition of marriage between members of the same sex, the Democratic Party, even with the help of the mainstream media, has little of substance to persuade these voters to vote for them. Their best hope is to persuade conservative Christians to stay home and not vote.

I hope - no, I pray - that conservative Christians see through this ploy and will look at the positions of candidates on the issues that are paramount to them - sanctity of human life and the sacredness of traditional marriage and family life - then march to the polls in droves and vote for these candidates.
