Danke shon,
Frau Uscola
Thank you so much, Linda Uscola, for escorting 30-plus Park Rapids High School students to Germany in March! It is only now, a month since the trip, that the full impact of your efforts resonates with us.
You spent countless hours organizing and coordinating this biennial, two-week trip that brought students to people and places they would have never known otherwise. Your tireless efforts gave students numerous opportunities to experience the people, language, foods, schools, sports and historical/cultural sites of Germany firsthand. Having students initially stay with German families, and then in youth hostels, gave them many opportunities to meet and learn from others.
Most importantly, you were the one ultimately responsible for all these students. Can any of us imagine taking on such an incredible task?

Although students missed school and needed to work on assignments before and after they returned, we strongly believe the benefits of travel far outweigh the limitations. In short, these German language students experienced what simply cannot be experienced in a classroom and, as parents, we are very grateful.
We also want to thank chaperones Rolf Koeller, Gabriele Zanutto and Tim Schwartz for their supervision. You helped provide our sons and daughters with memories and learning that will last a lifetime. Danke shon!
