Park Rapids during the winter is an entirely new experience for Summer Cabin Dwellers. We visited the weekend of Feb. 23 during the snowfall to pick up furniture ordered through Amish Oak (fun store with a great staff!). Since the cabin was closed, we selected Red Bridge Inn for lodging and met two very welcoming owners, Jennie and Kevin. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing with a delicious breakfast served each morning and coffee delivered to your guestroom door first thing in the morning!

Friday evening we visited with good friends celebrating the "First Ever Winter Happy Hour," eating Rocky's pizza and watching deer at their feeders. For dinner Saturday, we decided to try Goose Crossing since our favorite restaurant, the Y Steak House, was closed for the winter. When we arrived at Goose Crossing to find it closed for the evening perhaps due to the snowfall, we drove over to the Velvet Antler and had a very delicious meal served by a great waitress, Christine!

What we discovered is that even during the winter months, even during a winter with very little snow, Park Rapids has so much to offer guests coming into the area from shopping, to restaurants, to a unique Bed and Breakfast, to a winter wonderland.

I purchased a small sign while shopping at Amish Oak that says "Life Is Good" and I have to say that life in Park Rapids is indeed very good whatever the season.

Thanks!
