Mark Kennedy is focused on keeping our families safe. He knows that the only acceptable outcome is victory in the War on Terrorism. He wants our troops home as soon as possible, after it's clear the terrorists can't win. Doing anything else would make America less safe.
Mark Kennedy also knows that during a time of war, we have no greater obligation than to provide our men and women in uniform with the equipment they need to be successful. Amy Klobuchar says she supports our troops, yet would have voted against a bill last year that provided them with body armor and Improvised Explosive Detection equipment, even though a majority of Democrats supported it. That would have put her in the minority of her own party and out of touch with Minnesotans.
Mark Kennedy also supports giving law enforcement officials the tools they need to prevent future attacks. If terrorists are calling to America - we had better be listening to their calls. Amy Klobuchar came out against the surveillance bill.
On the Meet the Press debate between Mark Kennedy and Amy Klobuchar, you heard Ms. Klobuchar suggest the way to deal with the situation in Iraq is through political and diplomatic means. Mark Kennedy strongly believes we cannot negotiate with terrorists who would have been as happy to kill 30,000 innocent men, women and children as they were to kill 3,000.
