The Park Rapids Tennis Association recently held two fishing tournaments, one Sept. 8 on Long Lake and another Sept. 22 on Fish Hook Lake. Many players and parents played an instrumental role in the success of these tournaments that help fund the boy's tennis program.

We would like to give a big thanks to people in the community who volunteered their time and talents to this fundraising effort: A big thanks to the fishermen (and women) for entering the tournaments.

To John and Judy Nelson for hosting and being so helpful during the Long Lake tournament at their beautiful Spruce Hill Campground. A big thanks to our Weighmasters Chuck Yliniemi, Cory Aukes and Jim Senefelder.

For writing receipts and helping to return fish to the lake - a big thanks to Kay Winter, Dan Kruchowski and Kevin Lempola. For starting the boats off on Fish Hook Lake, thank you to Kevin Vaadeland for your great help.

Also, thanks to Charlie Manners for allowing the boat trailers to be parked in his driveway.
