Adding to Heritage Living Center story
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the article on Heritage Living Center printed on April 15.
The Heritage Living Center Campus Board of Directors and County Commissioners have a premise to pay heath insurance benefits out equally. To clarify a piece of the article, Heritage has been paying out health insurance benefits at $384 per month and is proposing to increase the contribution to $419 per month, the same as all other Heritage employees. Secondly, the dollars available from the State of Minnesota to be used to increase nursing home staff pay and benefits have been appropriated equitably on a percent basis, the same methodology we have used since the program started in 1999.
Finally, I wish to remind the taxpayers of Hubbard County that the Heritage Campus is a not-for-profit enterprise fund of the county and is treated as a separate business entity. We do not receive subsidy from the county taxpayers.
